When and
how did you become involved in commercial real estate?
In 1986 I walked into CB Commercial (now CBRE) selling title insurance
to the manager at the time (Tom Coyne) and I walked out with a
new career.
What project
have you enjoyed working on the most and why?
There have been so many through the years that its difficult
to select just one. At CB, it had to be representing the law firm
Dilworth Paxson (with partner, Joe McManus) in their relocation
to the brand new Mellon Bank Center. Having been in the business
for just over 2 years and landing a 125,000 SF deal was very rewarding.
At The Arden Group, it was learning the acquisition side working
with Craig Spencer where we purchased assets around the country.
Most recently, it was representing the Philadelphia Regional Produce
Market for a new 650,000 SF distribution center on 65 acres developed
by O'Neill Properties Group. It was clearly the most challenging
and complex deal Ive worked on, and working with Brian ONeill
was an incredible experience.
What do
you like most about your job?
The freedom, the challenge, the creativity.
What is
your favorite feedback that you have gotten from a client lately?
Nice suit.
If you
decided to change careers, what would you be doing instead?
Number 2 starter behind Cole Hamels or studio musician.
Your favorite
ways to spend free time...
On my boat catching, traveling with my family, listening
to music.

When and
how did you become involved in commercial real estate?
I was fishing with my dad the summer between my junior and senior
year of college and he simply asked me what I thought I wanted
to do. When I responded with I don't know, he indicated that many
of his more successful clients were developers and investors.
With that I walked in to my first interview, which was with Jeff
Algatt who ran a real estate company called Seneca Roach. I told
Jeff that I wanted to be a real estate developer. He asked me
where I was going to get my capital
it was a very short interview.
I turned my focus to brokerage and was hired by Albert M. Greenfield
and Co.
What project
have you enjoyed working on the most and why?
Without naming the transaction, it was the first one billed with
PernaFrederick on the invoice.
What do
you like most about your job?
No two days are exactly the same.
What is
your favorite feedback that you have gotten from a client lately?
Just yesterday
"Good
work. Thank you!"
If you
decided to change careers, what would you be doing instead?
A chef. I
really like to cook although I'm probably not quite as good as
I think.
Your favorite
ways to spend free time...
Running, traveling and trying to come up with ways to create more
free time.
